As the owners of Bob’s Donuts, we take matters regarding inclusivity very seriously.
We believe everyone should be free to be themselves and feel celebrated for doing so.
Recently, a claim was brought up that a Shift Manager had treated an employee disrespectfully and unfairly for being gay.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment.
Here’s What’s Been Done
EEOC: We reached out to the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) to ensure we handle this properly.
POLICIES: We have reviewed staff training on discrimination and harassment policies with everyone.
INVESTIGATION: We are currently investigating. Appropriate action will occur when it is complete.
Here Are Our Next Steps
ANONYMOUS STAFF SURVEYS: A 3rd party is doing anonymous staff surveys, so our staff can speak freely without any concern.
DIVERSITY TRAINING FOR OURSELVES: While we love celebrating everyone and we’d like to think we do not/could not discriminate, in an effort to ensure we are good allies with the LGBTQIA+ community, we are going to go through a diversity training workshop. We work diligently to foster a culture of inclusion and we want Bob’s Donuts to be a Safe Space for Everyone!
